The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) report shades more light on the level of contributions of the extractive sector to the economic and social development of Uganda, and the need to improve transparency and good governance at all levels of the extractive industry value chain.
The receipts reported by the government between 1st July 2020 and 30th June 2021 (FY 2020-21) show that the total revenues received from the extractive sector amounted to UGX 241,349million in FY 2020-21. Revenues collected by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) accounted for 95.72% of the total revenue streams generated by the sector.
