Oxfam Uganda, Oxfam Novib and Oxfam France investigated on the mega project led by the French energy giant TOTAL which will allow for the exploitation of 1.4 billion recoverable barrels of oil located on the shores of Lake Albert. This exclusive case study reveals the magnitude of Dutch investments in Uganda and how the Tax Agreement between Uganda and the Netherland will benefit oil companies but deprive Uganda of essential resources to finance essential public services and fight poverty and inequality, particularly vital in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
