The capture of our global economy by a tiny few has reached once unimaginable heights

In 2024 alone, billionaires amassed $2 trillion in wealth, and nearly four new billionaires were minted every week. Not only has the rate of billionaire wealth accumulation accelerated ―by three times― but so, too, has their power. The failure to stop billionaires is now spawning soon-to-be trillionaires. At this pace, we won’t see one trillionaire in a decade, as Oxfam had predicted earlier, but at least five. Meanwhile, the number of people living in poverty has barely changed since 1990
